Ukraine Gets Closer to the World: Three Strategic Memorandums Signed at the Forum “Friends of Ukraine”

May 5, 2025, Bukovel — The Forum “Friends of Ukraine”, held on May 4–6, became more than just a space for dialogue — it emerged as a true intersection of initiatives, decisions, and future transformations. In the serene mountain setting of the Carpathians, which stands in stark contrast to Ukraine’s intense pace of change, the Mayors’ Club and the Development Agency UMEDA secured three important international partnerships by signing three memorandums of cooperation.

These are not just documents — they are symbols of trust, support, and a shared commitment to building the future together. The signing of the memorandums marked the culmination of a dynamic day of dialogue between Ukrainian communities and influential international organizations.

1. FUNDESII – Foundation for Development and Integration in Ibero-America
This memorandum opens a door for Ukraine to a region that is often overlooked in our foreign economic priorities. Yet Ibero-America, with its vast human and resource potential, can become a strategic partner in the areas of investment, innovation, and cultural exchange. We agreed to launch joint educational initiatives, business dialogues, and programs to promote Ukrainian enterprises in new markets, while also seeking synergy in social projects. This partnership reflects a long-term vision and a new geopolitical horizon for Ukraine.

2. National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy
Italy is home to one of the largest Ukrainian diaspora communities. This memorandum is about uniting efforts to protect the rights of Ukrainians abroad, support public diplomacy, and strengthen cultural ties. It also opens opportunities to engage the diaspora in Ukraine’s reconstruction — through business, charity, and institutional support. The signing was an emotional moment, as it spoke of a unity that knows no borders.

3. NGO “Help to Ukraine”
This organization has become a symbol of compassion. Its team was among the first to respond to the humanitarian challenges brought on by the full-scale invasion, delivering aid to frontline areas. The signed memorandum formalizes our mutual commitment to long-term cooperation — from coordinating humanitarian aid to implementing projects in healthcare, rehabilitation, and education. We understand that even after victory, Ukraine will need steadfast partners who never tire of helping.

“Friends of Ukraine” brought together entrepreneurs, diplomats, community leaders, international foundations, and thought leaders in Bukovel. It was not just a conference — it was a community shaping the new architecture of Ukraine.

The three memorandums signed on May 5 are a powerful testament that we are not alone. The world is with us. People are with us. Partners are with us.

And most importantly — the future is with us.
