We are very pleased to welcome new economic unions created by our members within the framework of our joint program “Economic Unions: Strong Municipalities – Strong Ukraine,” in collaboration with international partners.
Indeed, in August, in the Znamyanka City Council with the participation of the Pantaivska and Novoprazka village councils, the establishment of an Economic Union between municipalities took place.
An Economic Union is a valuable tool for municipalities seeking to enhance their economic prospects. The consolidation of resources from multiple municipalities can be utilized to increase the chances of attracting investment resources and boosting trade, subsequently leading to the creation of new jobs and contributing to economic growth in each municipality.
The creation of the Economic Union is formalized by the Memorandum of Intermunicipal Cooperation, signed by Znamyanka City Mayor Volodymyr Sokirko, Pantaivska Village Mayor Ihor Bulba, and Novoprazka Village Mayor Bohdan Kurup.
A member of the Mayors’ Club, Volodymyr Moskalenko, the Mayor of Korosten, managed to unite a total of 13 municipalities from the entire district into the newly established economic union. These most active municipalities have ambitious and very important goals that must be pursued despite the ongoing war. Life continues, and we all must work for the future. Korosten, in particular, has already taken the initial steps towards implementing a waste recycling project, the realization of which will open up a range of opportunities for this region.
Online, appreciation was expressed for this activity by representatives of the Mayors’ Club, Yulia Chufistova, and international partner Henry Sternberg of EoT Global Inc.
We take pride in our members and begin working in working groups for the 8 signed economic unions, two of which are already proposed in a grant project of the European Union.
