Mayors’ Club continues its work within the framework of the twin cities program with a B2B (Business to Business) project which is aimed towards connecting cities in order for them to share their experiences, cultural, educational, and other issues, but also provide a possibility to find business partners between the twin cities’ enterprises. Partnerships and investments are what Ukraine needs to restore its economy.
Thus far, Mayors’ Club has initiated the development of friendly relations between Zhytomyr and Gouda (Netherlands). After preliminary correspondence and online meetings of the mayors, it was possible to move to the stage of practical actions to implement the agreed areas of assistance and cooperation.
On March 17, an event organized by the Mayor of Gouda, Peter Verhoeven, was held in the church of St. John in the Netherlands to commemorate the anniversary of the stay of Ukrainians who have found refuge in this hospitable city. Many of them were Zhytomyr residents and children. Mayor Gouda delivered a speech with words of support that are so important to people, and there was music performed by a young Ukrainian pianist Sofia and songs by a choir of Ukrainian children.
After the commemorative part, an hour of networking was organized for residents, organizations and experts who are not indifferent to the problems of Zhytomyr and want to help, as well as for business organizations that see prospects for possible cooperation with Ukraine and are ready to discuss areas and projects right now.

Gouda Mayor, Peter Verhoeven, later decided to invite everyone to watch a touching video about Zhytomyr, which showed a successful and happy city and the city after the war, as well as a video message from the city’s mayor, Serhiy Sukhomlin, in which he discussed the situation within the city and thanked everyone for the help.
Mayors’ Club, which is represented by CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Yulia Chufistova and Advisory Board member Henry Sterenberg, were involved in organizing and participating in this event, which was quite productive. Meetings with local associations and business clubs, as well as with Alderman Gouda, have already been scheduled in order to find partners and investors for the city of Zhytomyr, so they can implement projects and construct relationships between businesses in these cities.
