Visit of the Italian Delegation to Ukraine

From May 30th to June 3rd, Ukraine will be visited by a delegation of Italian businessmen, representatives of charitable foundations, municipalities, and others. The main objective of the visit is to understand the needs of Ukrainian communities in overcoming the consequences of war and establishing a system of targeted assistance “from hand to hand.” The visit is organized by the NGO “Mayors’ Club” and its official representative in Italy, the NGO “Ukrainian House.”

Announcing this event at the Mayors’ Club meeting, Vice President Alexander Mazurchak stated: “Lately, there have been voices claiming that Europe is tired of helping Ukraine. This is a false statement. I visited Italy in April, and together with Marco Toson, the President of the Ukrainian House, we held 18 meetings with representatives of municipalities and businessmen who constantly send and will continue to send humanitarian cargoes to Ukraine.

They are not tired of helping. They are tired of something else – that their aid does not reach those who truly need it. We are confident that through the Mayors’ Club, we will be able to establish a system for delivering the very humanitarian assistance that each individual community of our partnership needs, be transparent in reporting, and be fully open to our Italian partners.”

During the visit, the delegation will visit social institutions in different cities of Ukraine, and the final event of the visit will be the Forum “Targeted Assistance to Ukrainian Communities in Overcoming the Consequences of War,” which will take place on June 3rd at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Members of the Mayors’ Club will present their territorial communities’ social and infrastructure projects to their Italian partners, which require the support of foreign partners. Projects can be sent to the email address yuliya.ch@mayorsclub.org. The project presentation form can be downloaded here.
