Volodymyr Moskalenko

He worked as a sailor for an Estonian shipping company, and in 1971-1973 he served in the military. After completing his service in 1974, he returned to his hometown, where he continued his career at the locomotive depot in Korosten.
as a mechanic and later as an assistant locomotive driver. In 1976, he was elected secretary of the Komsomol organization of the locomotive depot, where he worked until 1978. From 1978 to 1990, he worked as secretary of the Korosten City Committee of the Komsomol and the city committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine. In 1990, in an alternative election, he was elected first secretary of the Korosten City Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine. After the Communist Party ceased its activities in 1991, he founded the Veras production company, where he worked as director until 1998. In March 1998, he was first elected mayor of Korosten, and was re-elected in 2002, 2006, and 2010. He has been a member of the city council of six convocations. During his tenure as Mayor of Korosten, Volodymyr Vasyliovych has received dozens of awards and honors, including the Order of Merit. For special merits and achievements in the city’s socio-economic and cultural development, strengthening of partnerships with other countries, and high efficiency of the territorial community management, Volodymyr Vasylovych was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Korosten” by the decision of the 26th session of the City Council of the 5th convocation of 30.09.2008 No. 42.
