In 1996-1999, he worked as the head of the Vyzhnytsia District State Administration, then as an assistant to the People’s Deputy. From September 1999 to November 2010 he worked as the director of Vyzhnytsia secondary school.
Mayor of Druzhbiv from the party “Nash Krai” since 2016. He was re-elected in 2020. He worked as a methodologist at the Druzhbiv Sugar Refinery, at the Svesa branch of the Shostka Zirka plant. In 1989-1993 – investigator, head of the investigative unit of the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Sumy region. Mayor of Boryslav from the Samopomich party since 2015. He was re-elected in 2020. In 2010-2012, he worked as the Secretary of the Boryslav City Council. From 2012 to 2013, he was the director of Vsesmak Plus, Lviv. In 2014-2015 he worked as the Secretary of the City Council of Boryslav. In 2010-2015 he was a deputy of the Boryslav City Council of the VI democratic convocation.
In the summer of 1998, Sayuk became an individual entrepreneur. His main activity is passenger ground transportation of urban and suburban traffic. He was also the director of the private enterprise Universal-Bud (building construction). In 2006, Oleksandr tried to become a member of parliament. In the parliamentary elections, he ran for the Karmazin Bloc. He headed the Nikopol city organization of the political party. However, Sayuk did not manage to become a parliamentarian. But four years later, he successfully ran for the Nikopol City Council. This time, Oleksandr was running as a member of the Party of Regions. In the sixth convocation of the parliament, he was a pro bono assistant to Yulia Kovalevska, a member of the Party of Regions. In 2015, Sayuk was already on the list of another party, the Revival. He failed to get into the Dnipro Regional Council, but managed to become a deputy of the Nikopol City Council for the second time. In addition, Sayuk was elected secretary of the city council. In the fall of 2020, the party “For the Future” nominated Oleksandr as a candidate for the mayoralty. In the first round, 21.86% of Nikopol residents voted for him, and 17.85% voted for his opponent from the Servant of the People party, Ruslan Oliynyk. In the second round, Sayuk was supported by 54.64% of voters. This helped him to get ahead of the candidate from the ruling political party by 13% and become the mayor of Nikopol.
